Sikkim: Spritual leader Dalai Lama lands in Gangtok

Gangtok, December 11: Spritual leader the 14th Dalai Lama lands in Gangtok ahead of his spritual teaching on Gyalsey Thokme Sangpo’s 37 Practices of a Boddhisattava (Laklen Sodunma) at Gangtok’s Palzor stadium on December 12.

Further, Dalai Lama on his three day visit to Sikkim will also be virtually laying the foundation stone of Karmapa Park Project at Rumtek and Gyalwa Lhatsun Chenpo Statue project at Simmik Khamdong constituency, Gangtok District.

Upon his arrival at gangtok today, Dalai Lama was extended a gracious reception by Tibetan representatives, Korchen Rinpoche, Lachung Rinpoche and Gonjang Rinpoche along with Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang, cabinet ministers and state govt officials.

Following Lama’s reception at the helipad, monks from various monasteries of the State orchestrated a traditional Buddhist ritual of dance and prayer known as ‘Sherbang’.
