However, for those unable to attend in person, Samsung will be live-streaming the event across all its official channels, including the Newsroom site and YouTube channel.
Details of Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2024 Event
The Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2024 event is set to kick off at 11:30 pm IST (1:00 pm EST) on Wednesday, January 17, at the SAP Center in San Jose, California.
As tradition dictates, the event will be accessible to a global audience through live streaming on Samsung’s Newsroom site and YouTube channel. Interestingly, the event date had previously surfaced as part of speculations and rumours.
The highlight of the event is expected to be the unveiling of Samsung’s next-generation Galaxy S devices, collectively known as the Galaxy S24 lineup. The invitation for the event carries the tagline ‘Galaxy AI is coming,’ hinting at the advanced AI features integrated into the latest flagship series, which is rumoured to include three models:
Samsung Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra. Samsung promises that this new Galaxy S series will establish a higher standard for the most intelligent mobile experience to date, teasing an innovative mobile experience powered by AI.
In tandem with the event, Samsung has launched a reservation program for the Galaxy S24 series through its India website. Interested users can secure a VIP pass by paying Rs. 1,999, ensuring they are among the first to obtain the highly anticipated handsets.
Reserving the Samsung Galaxy S24 Series
The anticipation surrounding the Galaxy S24 series is already building, with Samsung initiating pre-reservations for the new handsets in some regions. This move allows eager customers to secure their spots early and be among the first to own the latest Galaxy S devices.
In India, prospective buyers can now secure their spot for the Galaxy S24 series on Samsung India’s official website by making a pre-reservation for just Rs 1,999. Each pre-booking comes with a range of advantages, including additional benefits valued at Rs 5,000, the most favorable exchange value, the option to acquire a special edition Galaxy S24, and priority delivery of the smartphone.
For early access to purchase the Galaxy S24 series starting from January 17, users can opt for the Next Galaxy VIP Pass, available at a price of Rs 1,999. This pass enables users to select their preferred variant during the early purchase window.
Notably, the timing of this Unpacked event is earlier in the year compared to Samsung’s recent flagship releases, as the last two non-foldable flagships were launched in February.
Expected Specifications of Samsung Galaxy S24 Series
The Galaxy S24 family is rumoured to come equipped with Android 14-based One UI 6.1 and AMOLED LTPO displays featuring variable refresh rates ranging from 1Hz to 120Hz.
The Ultra variant is said to boast a 200-megapixel quad-camera setup, while the regular models may feature 50-megapixel triple-camera units.
Samsung’s in-house Exynos 2400 chip is speculated to power the Galaxy S24 in all countries except the US and Canada. In these regions, the handset could ship with a modified version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC named “Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC for Galaxy.”
Conversely, the Galaxy S24 Ultra and Galaxy S24+ are expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC for Galaxy across all markets, promising a consistent and powerful performance.
