With ‘Animal’, Ranbir Kapoor becomes the only actor to give three consecutive 100-crore hits post pandemic

Ranbir Kapoor was on a roll when he gave back-to-back hits between 2009 and 2013, starting from Wake Up Sid and following it up with Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani, Raajneeti, Rockstar, Barfi, and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. After a lull, he’s back with a bang post the pandemic as he has become the only actor to give three consecutive 100-crore hits. Sandeep Vanga’s Animal will soon be a 400-crore blockbuster.

The other two hits the actor delivered were Ayan Mukerji’s ‘Brahmastra-Part One: Shiva‘ and Luv Ranjan’s ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar‘. The former made over Rs 230 crore at the box-office whereas the latter was around Rs 128 crore.

Domestically, exclusive previews of the trailer for the Mumbai press was followed by a grand trailer launch in Delhi generated industry buzz. A strategic album launch with Spotify and a three-city tour in the South, culminating in a pre-release event in Hyderabad with regional stars, tapped into diverse markets.
