‘Trishul’ actress Rakhee Gulzar is making a comeback, spotted shooting for ‘Amar Boss’ in Kolkata- WATCH

After being away from the silver screen for several years, veteran actress Rakhee Gulzar is all set to mark her comeback with the Bengali film industry. The yesteryear star will be seen in Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee’s upcoming film titled ‘Amar Boss‘. Basking in the success of their last release, ‘Raktabeej’ starring Abir Chatterjee and Mimi Chakraborty, Shiboprasad and Nandita announced the inclusion of Rakhee Gulzar in the lead cast in December last year and have now kicked off the film’s shooting. All set to return to the Bengali film industry after almost two decades, Gulzar was recently seen in Kolkata as she joined the team of ‘Amar Boss‘.

Rakhee, along with the entire cast and crew, were spotted shooting across various locations in Kolkata including Sector Five and Victoria Memorial in the recent. Pictures and videos of the actress taking part in the shoot with Shiboprasad and the team are also going viral. One of the videos shows the veteran actress eating panipuri outside the iconic monument.

Among all the videos going viral, a clip of the veteran actress having fun with the director Shiboprasad Mukherjee and the other cast members is going viral. Standing in front of the panipuri stall outside Victoria Memorial, Gulzar can be seen joking with the director about not posing for the camera anymore.

Notably, the entire team has been shooting with Rakhee at various locations in Kolkata. The film will mark the actress’ return to the Bengali industry after two decades. Her last theatrical release was Rituparno Ghosh’s ‘Shubho Mahurat‘ in 2003. Besides that, she was also seen in Gautam Halder’s Nirban, which made it to several film festivals in 2019.

Speaking on the same, Nandita Roy earlier expressed her excitement over working with Rakhee Gulzar and said, “I have great regard for Rakhee and wanted to work for her for a long time. Amar Boss was conceived by keeping her in mind. We are delighted about getting this opportunity.”

Shiboprasad Mukherjee on the other hand also shed light on being in touch with the veteran actress for quite some time. “She has seen most of our films and her favourite one is Haami,” he said further heaping words of praise on Gulzar.

Talking about the film, Amar Boss will feature Rakhee Gulzar in the lead role. The film will also feature Shiboprosad and Srabanti Chatterjee in prominent roles.
