Randeep Hooda’s forthcoming directorial debut, “Swatantrya Veer Savarkar,” heralds the resurgence of an hero, an indomitable figure in India’s fight for freedom. The film embarks on a compelling odyssey, bringing to life the legendary yet neglected tale of Swatantrya Veer Savarkar – a visionary, and a firebrand.

Randeep Hooda expressed, “After almost two years in Kalapani with Mr Savarkar, it’s finally time for him to step out to freedom. The journey has been tough but it has made me go beyond myself as an actor into being a film maker and much more. It’s about time the country came to know about the contribution of the armed revolution in our freedom struggle. Mr Savarkar was always ahead of time and is today more relevant than ever before.”
The actor went on a strict diet to play this legendary character as one of the producers Anand Pandit told E Times, “When he came to my office with Sandeep Singh, he was 86 kg. He was so involved in the character and to date that to essay it on screen. He said that he won’t leave any stone unturned. He had only 1 khajoor and 1 glass of milk for 4 months until the shooting got over.”
