Sushmita Sen’s brother Rajeev calls Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Animal’ a ‘wahiyaat’ film, says ‘Didn’t connect with me because…’
Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal is rewriting history at the box-office with staggering collections that have shocked and surprised people across the country. Sushmita Sen’s brother Rajeev Sen put out a detailed review of the blockbuster and praised the performances of the actors and how it’s one of the biggest hits of all time on his vlog, but he also called the film ‘wahiyaat‘.
Here’s what he wrote in detail:
‘If you honestly ask me how the movie was – wahiyaad. It didn’t connect with me because I felt there was a lot of violence. One thing is showing killing of people and torturing them, that’s fine. But I also feel that the movie was a little too long. So script, point of view, movie point of view, bahut hi wahiyaad film hai. I thought the music was amazing. Action scenes were amazing. I felt there was a little too much of killing a little, too much of extreme violence, which the director could have avoided.”
He added, “Anil Kapoor is always Anil Kapoor. He has got his own swag. The actress (Rashmika Mandanna) also did a fair job. I felt that at times I didn’t understand her dialogues. So film wise is not a good film at all. It is making a lot of money which is great for Bollywood. It’s great for Ranbir and the entire team. All of them have worked very hard in that sense. I’m very, very happy that. Yes, when a movie does this kind of business where the movie is being compared to King Khan. Can you imagine the numbers are getting closer to Jawan?. So you know, it’s a huge hit. I guess one of the biggest hits of all time till date, so great for Bollywood. It’s great for everybody who is a part of the industry. Bobby, of course, so close yet so far next time. If you’re watching this, the tears that you had in your eyes, we all saw it.”
Firstpost, in its review of the film, wrote- “The runtime of Animal is over 3 hours and 20 minutes and I can assure you there won’t be any moment where you feel the movie is boring. Throughout the film something is happening which will keep you hooked to the screens and the credit goes to Vanga’s superb editing skills and storytelling.”
