Suryakumar Yadav on Wednesday revealed that he has undergone a surgery for sports hernia. The India batter suffered the injury during the tour of South Africa in December. Suryakumar underwent the surgery in Germany and it is expected that he will take at least one month to recover from the operation.
“Surgery done. I want to thank everyone for their concerns and well wishes for my health, and I am happy to tell you all that I will be back very soon,” he shared on X with a photo of him on a hospital bed.
The middle-order batter is expected to make comeback during IPL 2024. The Mumbai Indians player is seen as the backbone of India’s batting in the T20Is.
The T20 World Cup 2024 will be held in June in West Indies and USA with India opening their campaign on 5 June against Ireland.
