The southpaw, however, still manages to find the gap between the two boundary riders to collect his third boundary. Ashwin, meanwhile, has a catching mid off and a slip in place. FOUR! Hartley collects a second boundary in as many overs, this time reverse sweeping Ashwin behind point and beating the diving fielder to move into the 30s.

FOUR! Pope takes a couple of steps forward to Siraj and drives the ball past mid off for his 20th boundary! DROPPED! Pope’s dropped for a second time in this innings as Rahul fluffs a sitter at slip after Pope nicks a climbing delivery from Siraj in his direction. The ball kept a touch low, but still at a catchable height. The Indians have their hands over their heads again. The 400 comes up for the visitors in the following over with three singles off Ashwin.

FOUR! Hartley dances down the track and clobbers the ball down the ground towards the long on fence, frustrating Jadeja even further! Pope gets an edge a couple of deliveries later, but the ball stays low and is well short of Rohit. Hartley then collects three off Ashwin in the following over after driving the ball through cover, with Siraj saving a run after running from sweeper point. To make matters worse for the Indians, four byes are added to the English total after the ball kicks up higher than usual and beats both Pope and the keeper.

The second new ball has been taken after an eight-over wait, and it’s Ravindra Jadeja who gets to make first use of it! FOUR! Old ball or new, Pope doesn’t shy away from going for his shot as he shapes for a reverse sweep, but ends up scooping it over the keeper’s head, with the ball rolling away to the third man fence. 90 overs done in the English innings, and the visitors appear very much in contention as far as eclipsing India’s first innings score is concerned.

First boundary for Hartley as he charges down the track in the fourth delivery of Ashwin’s second over of the day, the ball rolling away to the straight boundary unhindered.

The 350 comes up for the visitors meanwhile, and the way Pope is motoring along right now, 400 doesn’t look that far off!

It’s a wicket-maiden for Bumrah, with just a leg bye coming off his 15th over besides Rehan’s dismissal. Pope, meanwhile, stretches England’s lead to 150 with a single in the following over. Tom Hartley joins Pope at the centre after the dismissal, and he sure can hit the ball big, as he did in his cameo on Day 1. Seven off the following over by Jadeja, with Hartley and Pope collecting two singles each before the latter runs the ball towards third man, getting enough time for a third as Iyer gives the ball a chase and saves a run.

We are not putting any pressure on ourselves by setting any target. India vs England 1st Test Day 4 Updates: Ollie Pope to will take the strike on Day 4 of the Hyderabad Test between India and England with only one hope – to repeat what he did on Day 3. Unbeaten on 148, the batter has brought England back into the game with his sublime batting as Indian bowlers struggled on a slow deck at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium.

England ended Day 3 on 316/6 and lead India by 126 runs. With four wickets more left in the kitty, England will look to stretch the lead to at least 200 runs before India get into the bat. The second innings have been tough for Indian bowlers on a pitch that didn’t offer much spin. Ravindra Jadeja took one wicket but gave away 101 runs, while Ravichandran Ashwin had two after leaking 93 runs.

Jasprit Bumrah ahs been the pic of the bowlers with two wickets from 12 overs and has only given away 29. Axar Patel has also taken one wicket so far. Indian bowlers will aim to wrap up England’s innings in the first session on Day 4 which will allow them to finish the match today itself.
