Kangana Ranaut on the Bilkis Bano case: ‘My script is ready but some studios don’t want to make it because…’
Kangana Ranaut is gearing up to play the former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in her next directorial Emergency. She has already played Rani of Jhansi in her first directorial Manikarnika. The actress was recently asked by a user on X if she would like to make a film on the Bilkis Bano case. Ranaut said the studios don’t want to make a politically motivated film.
She tweeted- “I want to make that story I have the script ready, researched and worked on it for three years but @netflix , @amazonIN and other studios wrote back to me that they have clear guidelines they don’t do so called politically motivated films, @JioCinema said we don’t work with Kangana because she supports BJP and Zee is going through a merger, what are my options?”

She wrote- “I grew up with an inbuilt feeling of being out of place, I traveled miles and build homes of my dreams, farm houses, cottages. I felt happy, content even at peace but I never felt at home. Slowly it started to get evident that may be we don’t belong in this body, life is just a fleeting phase, we must recognise that and never try to be at home.”
She also recently praised the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led Union government for making the consecration of Lord Ram’s idol at Ayodhya possible “after 600 years of struggle”.
Ranaut also urged the government to create a facility to allow pilgrims to visit the remains of the lost city of Dwarka that was submerged under the sea.
