IPL 2024 Retention Day Live: Trading window closes on Sunday, teams to finalise list of retained players

12:08 (IST)

RR director of cricket, Kumar Sangakkara, explains Joe Root’s decision to opt out of IPL 2024:

“During our retention conversations, Joe informed us of his decision to not take part in IPL 2024. Even in a short span of time, Joe was able to create such a positive impact on the franchise and the players around him. His energy around the group and the experience he brought to the Royals will be missed. We respect his decision totally and wish him success in everything he does.”

IPL 2024 Retention Day Live: The IPL 2024 trading window comes to an end by 4 PM IST on 26 November 2023. This means the final list of retained and released players per franchise will be finalised by Sunday evening. The remaining purse of teams for the IPL 2024 mini-auction depends on what teams do in the trading window and how many players they retain.
