Elon Musk to meet Israeli president, hostage families
Israeli President Isaac Herzog will visit Elon Musk on Monday to discuss “the need to act to combat rising anti-Semitism online,” according to the politician’s office.
Musk, the owner of X, formerly known as Twitter, has faced criticism for what some believe is an increase in hate speech on the social media network since his purchase.

The White House has also accused him of “abhorrent promotion” of anti-Semitism after promoting a conspiracy theory that accuses Jews of attempting to destabilise white majorities.
Herzog’s office said the meeting would be joined by “representatives of families of hostages held by Hamas, who will speak about the horrors of the Hamas terror attack on October 7, and of the ongoing pain and uncertainty for those held captive”.
“In their meeting, the President will emphasise the need to act to combat rising antisemitism online,” Herzog’s office said.
In September, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu encouraged Musk to discover “the ability to stop not only anti-Semitism, or rolling it back as best you can, but any collective hatred” on X.
Musk, the world’s richest person, stated that while his website could not prevent all hate speech from being posted, he was “generally against attacking any group, no matter who it is.”
X Corp is now suing the group Media Matters, claiming that the site’s portrayal of anti-Semitic content drove away sponsors.
Musk has also vowed to sue the Anti-Defamation League over concerns that harmful and racist speech has increased on the site after his $44 billion buy.
