Animal: Bobby Deol reveals how his unemployed days helped him land a role in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film

Bobby Deol is clearly having his cake and eating it too. His 2.0 version is being lapped up by both critics and audiences alike, be it Love Hostel, Class of 83, Aashram, and now Animal. The actor was talking about the film along with co-actor Ranbir Kapoor at an event where he revealed how it all happened.

He revealed, “I was playing Celebrity Cricket League at that time and had long hair and a beard. Sandeep Reddy Vanga called me and said he wanted to meet me and I wondered why. He showed me my photograph from one of the matches and said the expression I had there was exactly what he wanted for his next film. And I was like ‘Bekaari ke din kaam aa gaye.’

Deol’s glimpse in the trailer is spine-chilling and fans are going absolutely gaga over the new enemy in town. Netizens have flooded comments section saying, “All eyes on Bobby Deol at the end” and “Bobby Deol is bringing my villain fantasy to life.” Another fan commented saying, “This will be a blockbuster success because of Bob”.

A fight scene culminates the trailer with Deol lying on Kapoor’s body and casually lighting a cigarette. The trailer ends with the hushed noise of him releasing the smoke in the air. That’s how Vanga approaches his characters and the world they inhabit. They are unapologetic about their evilness and are the heroes of their own worlds.
