‘Three months of hell’: Sonam Kapoor on husband Anand Ahuja’s illness which ‘no doctor could diagnose’

Much like all of us bid adieu to 2023 and welcomed the new year enthusiastically, celebrities, too, shared their best moments to count their blessings. While many stars chose to share a glimpse of their New Year celebrations, Sonam Kapoor shared a wrap-up video cherishing the moments she spent with her husband and son Vayu.

The video was accompanied by a long heartwarming note in which the actress reflected on her past year and shared how she dealt with her husband Anand Ahuja’s rare illness.

Sonam Kapoor’s long note covered the emotions she experienced in 2023. “The last year has been a roller coaster. Coming to accept the fact that we are parents and all the joys and fears that come with it. Understanding that I had changed drastically emotionally, physically and spiritually and that comes with pain, acceptance and eventually exhilaration,” Sonam wrote.

Highlighting her husband’s health, the Neerja actress added, “Then, dealing with my Husband falling very sick which no doctor could diagnose and eventually finding out what it was and him recovering completely (it was three months of hell and thank you God and Dr Sarin).”

Sonam went on to reflect on how she balanced supporting her husband in his work while trying to spend time with her precious family and incredible friends and called it the “most tough, amazing, fulfilling and enriching year.”

In her next statement, Sonam expressed pain and agony over the horrendous conflict in Gaza. Praying for the lives lost in the war, she wrote, “People in power are just sitting there behaving like monsters.”

Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja exchanged vows in the year 2018. The couple entered the marital bliss after a few years of dating each other. Four years after their wedding, the couple announced the news that they were expecting a baby. They often share pictures of their son Vayu on their Instagram handles.

On the work front, Sonam Kapoor was last seen in Blind, which also starred Purab Kohli, Vinay Pathak, and Lillete Dubey in pivotal roles. The actress has reportedly signed two projects which are yet to be officially announced.
